Kun ajattelet kotia, mitä kuvittelet? Miten kannamme kotia sisällämme, ja miten löydämme sen paikoista, joissa asumme?
Tässä kahden tunnin työpajassa loviisalaiset ovat tervetulleita kokoontumaan yhteen ja pohtimaan kodin monia kerroksia. Tutkimme sekä sisäisiä kotejamme – tunteita, muistoja ja tarinoita, joita kannamme kanssamme, että ulkoisia kotejamme – maisemia, perinteitä ja yhteyksiä, jotka juurruttavat meidät fyysiseen asuinpaikkahamme.
Luovien harjoitusten avulla, käyttäen erilaisia ilmaisumuotoja, löydämme jaettuja kokemuksia ja henkilökohtaisia merkityksiä kuulumisesta.
Erityisiä taiteellisia taitoja ei vaadita. Uteliaisuutesi ja halukkuutesi tutkia yhdessä ja jakaa ajatuksiasi riittää. Työpaja on englanniksi ja sen pitää venäläinen taiteilija Vera Boitcova osana Art In Lov -taideresidenssiä ja University of Kucku -yhteistyötä.

When you think about ’home’, what do you imagine? How do we carry our ’home’ within us, and how do we find it in the places we live?
In this two-hour workshop, local residents of Loviisa are invited to come together and reflect on the many layers of ’home’. We’ll explore both our inner homes – the feelings, memories, and stories we carry with us, and our outer homes – the landscapes, traditions, and connections that root us in our physical place of living.
Through creative exercises using a variety of mediums, we’ll discover shared experiences and personal meanings of belonging.
No specific artistic skills required. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to share stories and explore together. ❤️

ABOUT VERA:
”I am a Russian performance/video artist and LGBT+/women’s rights activist. Queen Mary University of London graduate (MA Theatre and Performance, 2015).
My work can be described as a video/live performance collage of real-life stories (exaggerated and transformed into something surreal) told by a variety of colourful personas all of which are usually played by me (often at the same time).
Topics include civil rights, mental health, traumas, fear and memories. In my works, I try to conjure a sense of familiarity, belonging, and déjà-vu. Being from a place where people like me are being silenced and disregarded, my main goal is to create a space or a situation where no one would not feel invisible or alone anymore.”
